After a series of life threatening encounters—car bombs, kidnappings, and assassinations Steve Hindy returned from the Middle East to found The Brooklyn Brewery. Steve spent many years in war torn Middle Eastern countries where Islamic law prevented him from buying beer, so he and his colleagues learned to brew their own. He returned to the States to work at Newsday after promising his family a safer environment to grow. Unsatisfied with his desk job, his passion for brewing led him to found the Brooklyn Brewery. Twenty five years later he is one of the largest craft brewers in America.
